EXECUTIVE DIRECTION
The Executive Director’s Office oversees and supervises all the activities organized by the Institute of Puerto Rican Institute of Culture programs. It has the responsibility of implementing the cultural vision and the goals that the Institute must fulfill. This duty cannot be passed on to others and includes the coordination of the various programs and administrative tasks, with the object of complying in an agile, efficient and effective way with the purposes of Act 89.
The Executive Director’s Office receives support in all its responsibilities from the Assistant Executive Director and 10 programs: Archaeology, Architectural Patrimony Preservation, Cultural Promotion, Folk Arts, Music, Puerto Rico’s National Archives, Puerto Rico’s National Library, Publications and Magazines, Theater and Dance, Visual Arts. The Support to the Arts Office is in charge of the ExpressArt in Every Corner (ExpresArte a Todo Rincón) Project, which promotes cultural values and provides creative experiences by means of cultural workshops and activities that encourage and develop self-initiated cultural endeavors in underserved communities. Arts Support also supervises Arts in Education, Arts in Underserved Communities (Arte en los Barrios).
To harmoniously coordinate the administrative and programmatic operations, the Executive Director’s Office relies on the support of the Institute’s offices.
